Major Story Points Not Mentioned In Link:
- Goes to a party for his brother and sees Persephone for the first time. Declares that her beauty could rival Aphrodite's. Aphrodite gets jealous and has her son snag Persephone and put her passed out drunk in the back of Hades' car. He takes her home and puts her to bed

- Next day they interact and he makes sure she gets home later.

- Through circumstances beyond their control, Hera gets Persephone an internship in the Underworld where Hades is the boss. He ends up saving her when Minthe tries to send her somewhere dangerous. He also finds out that there is a tabloid picture of them and he finds the one who wrote the article and takes his eye.

- They continue to get closer but he still has his rocky relationship with Minthe. A rainy encounter with Minthe leads to him deciding to try to give her another chance despite his feelings for Persephone.

- Ground rules are laid out between him and Persephone at her request. They know there are feelings but it's not appropriate at work. Nor is it appropriate when he's clear in a relationship with Minthe.

- Things with Minthe get worse and she ends up striking him across the face. She's told to leave and after some soul searching he realizes that being with her is not good for either of them. He breaks things off but tells Minthe that she's welcome to stay at the company and keep the apartment that he got for her. He won't take away his gifts.

- Finding out that Hades is no longer dating Minthe leads to them talking. They have their first kiss but Persephone is overwhelmed and turns into butterflies, flying away.

- She summons him when she's going through a rough patch and he comes to spend the night in her bed holding her. Nothing else happens but they realize that the kiss meant a lot to them. He knows that she means a lot to him and he holds her the rest of the night, sleeping peacefully.

PERSONALITY: Meeting Hades can leave one feeling rather intimidated. He has an aura about him that is quite terrifying and a reputation that leads one to believe he's more likely to bring you harm than anything else. This is a reputation he's aware of and has accepted that people will believe rather than getting to know him. Honestly, he fully expects that they will just jump to that conclusion rather than getting to know him so he has difficulty reaching out to others. More often than not he prefers to dive into his work head first, something that leaves him with next to no time to get to know anyone. Be involved with anyone.

At his core, he's a lonely and troubled god. As a child his own father swallowed him whole so that way he wouldn't overthrow him due to the word of a prophecy. Being the first born child, this means he was in his father's stomach for a long time. Worse still, he looks a good deal like his father, something others have taken note of in the past. This is perhaps more so seen when he uses the full extent of his powers and seems to look almost like him. So people are terrified of him and he now has to live with the physical and mental scars of the incident. Even after being part of the group who took his father down in the end. It's led to him going to see a therapist just to try and recover from what happened to him thousands of years ago.

But being lonely means he's prone to bad decisions just in the hope that someone will love him. Want him for who he is. While he tends to avoid relationships, he has had one troubling one with a nymph named Minthe. Their relationship can easily be described as toxic with him just wanting something more from her but her playing him and making him jump through hoops just to be with her. For awhile it was on and off, his entire family hating her guts. Still, he tries to make it work with her, even having considered asking her to marry him. At the lowest point in their relationship, she actually strikes him and he realizes that what they have isn't good for either of them. Through her we can see the growth he has a character from needing love so badly that he will try to make the worst situation work only to realize that what he needs to do is the right thing for his own emotional well being. And to stop making excuses to try and make others happy.

This is certainly a common problem of his. Put a bandage on an injury and hope that will cure it. A small patch without actually fixing the problem. We see how this doesn't make him happy though despite his efforts to please others or to avoid a problem. In fact, it has led to him resorting to things like cigarettes and alcohol or even sex as crutches to try and ease the pain he feels. Worse still is that he's actually aware that this is something he's doing and he knows that it isn't actually healthy. But sometimes, a lot of the time, habits are really hard to break. You want your family to be happy or you want to pretend like you're not as lonely as you really are... Just for a little while.

With all of this being a scary CEO who has PTSD and relationship problems, there is someone who does make him happy. Who has lifted him up and made him want to be a better person. This is Persephone. Through her we watch as he goes from being miserable to lighting up when she's around. He deeply cares about her and is willing to come to be there for her in the blink of an eye if she needs him. As it turns out he's actually kind of a dorky person, something she brings out in him. He tells bad jokes, has a fondness for dogs, and genuinely loves to just cuddle. At first he isn't sure if he should even consider her due to their enormous age difference but there's no denying that he can't stop thinking about her, looks forward to seeing her.

This doesn't mean that these two never disagree though. Hades is an old and stubborn god who is very set in his ways. He has things laid out in a certain way and expects them to go that way. While Persephone has been able to get him to loosen up a bit, they've certainly argued when her kind heart has gotten her into trouble because she couldn't accept the way that he does things. With that said, he seems to want to open himself up more and be less cold to the world. Hera even notes how he turns down her advances late in the series because he's thinking about Persephone instead. It's a long way in getting solved, of course, but is starting to accept that he doesn't need things like cigarettes and alcohol and unhealthy sexual relationships. Basically he doesn't need to do things that hurt him to try to numb his pain when he can possibly be with someone who makes him happy instead.

Hades is a very damaged person due to the traumas he's faced and due to most of the mortal world and the realm of the gods hating and even fearing him. He's capable of doing very stupid things in this pain such as getting wasted or sleeping with someone he shouldn't. But he is currently at a point now where he's trying to fix all of that. To be with Persephone. So he's a strong leader of the Underworld, a dork, a lonely man, and a very caring person.
